Geoffrey L. (Geoff) Beausoleil is the Manager for the NNSA Production Office (NPO). He is responsible for overall administration of the Management and Operating Contract for the Pantex and Y-12 plants, day-to-day administration of the NPO, and oversight of plant operations. The mission of the Y-12 and Pantex Plants is to maintain the nuclear weapons stockpile; provide enriched uranium for naval, research, and isotope production reactors; and support nonproliferation activities to reduce the global nuclear threat.
Mr. Beausoleil has decades of experience in the nuclear industry with experience at the Department of Energy (DOE) and Newport News Shipbuilding. Prior to NPO he served as the Manager of NNSA's Sandia Field Office, Deputy Manager of the NNSA Pantex Site Office, Assistant Manager, Office of Operational Support at the DOE Idaho Operations Office (DOE-ID), and as the DOE-ID's Integrated Safety Management Champion. In the DOE-ID position, Mr. Beausoleil was responsible for Idaho National Laboratory's (INL) environment, quality, safety, health, worker protection, safeguards/security, emergency management, and information technology programs. Other positions held by Mr. Beausoleil at DOE-ID included Director of the Quality and Safety Division and Facility Director for the Radioactive Waste Management Complex and the Waste Reduction Operations Complex. At these facilities, he was responsible for all transuranic, low-level, hazardous, and mixed-waste operations.
During his tenure at Newport News Shipbuilding, Mr. Beausoleil held various engineering positions such as Submarine System Test Engineer, Submarine Hull Structure Field Engineer, and Reactor Refueling Engineer. He left Newport News as a Qualified Chief Refueling Engineer.
Mr. Beausoleil is a 1981 graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a bachelor of science in engineering, with a focus in marine engineering.
