The U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO), Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO), and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technologies Office (HFTO) have jointly released the Progression to Net-Zero Emission Propulsion Technologies for the Off-Road Sector request for information. The purpose of this RFI is to understand the off-road sector alternative propulsion technology preferences, technologies that seem most promising, and the key barriers to achieving the transition to net-zero emissions by 2050.

In case you missed it, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Bioenergy Technologies Office (BETO) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) released the video recording, presentation slides, and a transcript from the 2023 Billion-Ton Informational Webinar, which was held virtually on April 16, 2024. During the webinar, four speakers provided their expertise on information within the 2023 Billion-Ton Report (BT23), which was released in March.

Researchers from DOE’s Waterborne Plastics Assessment and Collection Technologies (WaterPACT) project and Bio-Optimized Technologies to keep Thermoplastics out of Landfills and the Environment (BOTTLE™) consortium are on mission to do just that!
