The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) made the Radioactive Materials Handling Facility (RMHF) Resource Conservation and Recovery Act Closure Plan available for public comment on October 2006.

In 1988, a comprehensive radiological survey was performed at 25 locations within Rockwell International's Santa Susana Field Laboratories (SSFL) Area IV.
