Meet Jesse Clarke. He finds the intersection of international affairs and nuclear science a fascinating place. And just as his hero Anthony Bourdain found in countless kitchens, Clarke has found it takes many hands to help ensure nuclear security.

Last month, NNSA’s Office of Radiological Security hosted a workshop in Madrid to promote the benefits of transitioning from high-activity cesium-137 irradiators to X-ray technology.

Last month, NNSA; the NATO Joint Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defence Centre of Excellence; and the German CBRN Defence, Safety, and Environmental Protection School teamed up to train German military and civilian emergency responders.

Meet Gerri Tennyson. She is an administrative professional in NNSA’s Office of Defense Programs. Working in nuclear security is a great fit for her interests in history and politics and she is proud to do her part to keep our nation safe.

How might climate change affect NNSA’s mission space? We have been working to identify, assess, and prioritize actions to increase resilience across the Nuclear Security Enterprise and mitigate risks to mission delivery.
