The Genesis Mission unites DOE’s National Labs, the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), industry, academia, and other experts to harness AI for breakthroughs in energy dominance, discovery science, and national security.
National Laboratories
Our 17 National Laboratories are home to an unparalleled concentration of world-class scientists, engineers, and researchers. To support the Genesis Mission, the Labs’ expertise and resources are organized around teams that form the foundation of the world’s most powerful scientific platform.
The data team transforms DOE and NNSA scientific data into secure, connected, high-value resources for accelerated discovery and national security.
The infrastructure team integrates advanced computing, cloud technologies, and DOE and NNSA research facilities to establish the infrastructure for the American Science and Security Platform.
The models team delivers and transforms powerful AI models and tools into active collaborators—developing hypotheses, running simulations, and executing experiments to drive scientific breakthroughs.
The National Challenges team harnesses AI to address national science and technology priorities to deliver real-world impact on our nation’s most pressing challenges.
The public-private partnerships team connects U.S. government resources with industry and academia to accelerate the productivity and impact of American science and engineering.
