EM’s Paducah Site recently received a jolt of energy with the installation of six new electric vehicle charging stations, an addition that enhances the site’s infrastructure while helping to improve the environment.

Cleanup contractors at EM’s Paducah Site engaged with the next-generation workforce at a Murray State University career fair for students from the science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and occupational safety and health (OSH) fields.

In 2003, EM created the Portsmouth/Paducah Project Office (PPPO) to focus on the safe and effective cleanup of the federal government’s two remaining gaseous diffusion plants at the Portsmouth and Paducah sites.

Members of the Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce met with EM and DOE Office of Nuclear Energy representatives during their 20th annual meeting in Washington, D.C.

A local fire chief recently praised the EM Paducah Site’s fire department for the team’s community-minded approach to emergency response.

Through their DOE Feds Feed Families program, EM Paducah Site workers raised funds to purchase about 130,000 pounds of food for local nonprofits whose mission is to provide local families with reliable access to affordable, nutritious food.

One of two new raw water pumps EM workers recently installed at the Paducah Site’s water treatment facility has reduced energy consumption for pumping water by approximately 63% and lowered water usage by about 1 million gallons per day.

EM’s Paducah Site recently completed construction of a 3,500-square-foot facility to house its new Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and provide continuity for emergency management.

As science and technologies continue to rapidly advance, EM’s Paducah Site is equipping educators in western Kentucky with tools to connect students, who represent the next-generation workforce, to applications that will inspire careers in the fields.
