Secretary Moniz discusses the upcoming U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial, a forum for showcasing African leadership in energy development, with over 35 ambassadors to the United States from across the African continent.

On March 9, 2014 the U.S. Department of Energy and Secretary Moniz hosted over 35 ambassadors to the United States from across the African continent.

The participants discussed the upcoming U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial that will take place on June 3-4, 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Ministerial will focus on the theme “Catalyzing Sustainable Energy Growth in Africa.” It will provide opportunities for government-to-government, government-to-industry, and company-to-company exchanges and networking on topics such as energy efficient technologies, rural mini-grid development, best practices in oil and gas resource development, and progress on President Obama’s Power Africa Initiative.
