On March 9, 2014 the U.S. Department of Energy and Secretary Moniz hosted over 35 ambassadors to the United States from across the African continent.
The participants discussed the upcoming U.S.-Africa Energy Ministerial that will take place on June 3-4, 2014 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The Ministerial will focus on the theme “Catalyzing Sustainable Energy Growth in Africa.” It will provide opportunities for government-to-government, government-to-industry, and company-to-company exchanges and networking on topics such as energy efficient technologies, rural mini-grid development, best practices in oil and gas resource development, and progress on President Obama’s Power Africa Initiative.
