Solar is so hot right now.
Overall, U.S. utility-scale photovoltaic (PV) generated enough electricity last year to power more than 2 million homes. It’s also creating jobs – a lot of them. In 2015, the solar workforce grew at a rate 12 times faster than the overall economy and boasts a workforce of more than 200,000 domestic jobs.
That number is expected to grow as industry continues working to cut the cost of solar-generated electricity in half by 2030 to meet new goals set by our SunShot Initiative. That means more people will be going solar, lightening the load on their future energy bills. And while saving money is a beautiful thing, so is seeing solar in action.
