Amy Boyette, Director, DOE-SR OEA

Amy R. Boyette was appointed Director of the Office of External Affairs (OEA) in February 2018. In this role, she is responsible for managing and overseeing the Savannah River Site (SRS) contractor and Federal Public/External Affairs Programs to include congressional and intergovernmental relations; public education and information; public participation; media liaison and emergency public information. She provides advice, overall leadership and direction, technical expertise and management support to the SR Manager and Deputy Manager in conducting the Public Affairs mission on a regional, national, and international basis. Ms. Boyette has full authority and responsibility for planning, developing and monitoring stakeholder interest in SRS operations, programs and activities as well as public concern about safety, health and environmental issues.

Ms. Boyette has been with DOE for more than 30 years, and has served in various roles at SRS, including Liaison to the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board and external affairs manager for the National Nuclear Security Administration. She also managed the U.S. Origin Nuclear Material Removal Program and served as press secretary for NNSA. 

Ms. Boyette earned a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of South Carolina Aiken and a master’s in Public Administration from Augusta State University. She lives in North Augusta, South Carolina.
