The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Competitive Program assists local governments and Tribes in implementing strategies to improve energy efficiency and reduce energy costs, carbon emissions, and overall energy use. This opportunity fills a much-needed gap by providing $8.8 million to local governments and Tribes that were ineligible to receive formula funding through the EECBG Program.

The Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) launched in April 2023, first requiring the submission of a concept paper, then a full application. After significant interest, the full application period closed on August 21, 2023. After extensive review of a highly competitive pool of applications, DOE selected 12 applicants that demonstrated significant technical merit, innovation, impact and community benefit.

Congratulations, Selected Communities!
