Message from the PPPO Manager
Beginning the week of July 6, we marked a milestone in your response to resuming Phase 1 work activities at the Portsmouth and Paducah sites during the COVD-19 pandemic. I want to congratulate and thank you for your diligence in protecting your co-workers as you restarted projects, and maintained an outstanding safety posture at both the Portsmouth and Paducah sites. Your commitment to enhanced safety and deliberate restart of planned project activities has paved the way for moving to Phase 2 of our approach to returning the sites to routine operations.
PPPO has been authorized to begin Phase 2 activities. This will be a slow ramp up as we continue to monitor impacts of COVID-19 on the surrounding area and within PPPO’s workforce. PPPO’s migration into Phase 2 activities will stagger activities to resume as appropriate. The pace of employees returning and the start of specific operations will be based on several factors, including available health data, remaining state and local restrictions and facility preparedness. During Phase 2 we will continue to use telework as a mitigating alternative. You will be notified by your employer regarding specific return to work dates. Meanwhile, you may click on one of the links below if your employer's latest information is accessible from this page.
My top priority is the safety of our personnel. I ask that you continue to practice site and CDC recommended guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19. If you have concerns, please do not hesitate to contact your immediate supervisor, employee human resource department, employee concerns program or the DOE employee concerns program as appropriate.
Again, thank you for your extraordinary efforts to navigate the complexities of our current work environment.
