Annual Small Business Forum & Expo
The OSDBU goal is to provide maximum practicable opportunities in the Departments' acquisitions to all small business concerns. The OSDBU hosts an annual Small Business Forum & Expo to connect small businesses with various DOE offices and programs to enhance DOE's overall mission of ensuring America's security and prosperity by:
- Strengthening and sustaining America's Energy Independence
- Introducing new innovations in areas of Science and Engineering
- Enhancing nuclear security through defense, nonproliferation, and environmental efforts
OSDBU will provide small businesses with the information needed to help you navigate through the largest civilian agency within the Federal government.
The Energy Department's Mentor-Protégé Program is designed to encourage DOE prime contractors to assist small disadvantaged businesses certified by the Small Business Administration under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act, other small disadvantaged businesses, women-owned small businesses, Historically Black Colleges and Universities, and other minority institutions of higher learning, and small business concerns owned and controlled by service disabled veterans in enhancing their capabilities to perform contracts and subcontracts for DOE and other Federal agencies. The program seeks to foster long-term business relationships between these small business entities and DOE prime contractors, and to increase the overall number of these small business entities that receive DOE prime contracts and subcontracts.
