The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy’s Bioenergy Technologies Office requests input from stakeholders to aid in identifying existing bioenergy workforce development opportunities:

  • Learning/skill development opportunities
  • Gaps that impede skill development and learning opportunities in bioenergy workforce development.

Responses to this Request for Information (RFI) will identify existing and emerging bioenergy workforce development tools, in addition to potential gaps in educational and training options. The evidence-based workforce development data will also assist in preparing the nation’s current and future bioenergy workforce for the rapidly and continually changing workforce demands to reskill and upskill in the bioenergy industry. Stakeholder groups from which input is requested include industry, academia, K–12 and postsecondary educators, career counselors, National Laboratories, government agencies, and other interested parties.

All RFI prompts can be found in the RFI Template Word document. Respondents may find it easier to respond to the RFI by downloading the RFI Template. Once the RFI Template has been completed by the respondent, please attached it to an email and submit it electronically to bioenergizeme@ee.doe.gov. If responding via a mobile device, consider downloading the free Microsoft Word application.

The RFI is also available on Grants.gov and EERE Exchange

All responses to this RFI, via the RFI Template, Grants.gov, or EERE Exchange, must be submitted electronically to bioenergizeme@ee.doe.gov no later than 5:00pm (ET) on November 2, 2020.
