Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Rocky Mountain Region (RMR), proposes to replace existing Structures 0/9, 11/2, 12/8, 19/5, and 23/7 on its AlcovaMiracle Mile West (A-MM-W) 115-kV Transmission Line in Carbon and Natrona Counties, Wyoming. The purpose of the project is to replace existing wood structures that have been identified as deficient. The new structures will be 5 to 10 feet taller than the existing structures and have minor structural updates, but will be visually similar to the existing structures. The new structures will be placed in the existing structure holes. The full scope of the structure replacement will include removing the existing structures, re-auguring the existing structure holes, installing the new wood structures, backfilling the structure holes, and installing new hardware. Work will occur on private land and public lands managed by the Bureau of Land Management and the Bureau of Reclamation. Equipment may include bucket trucks, truck-mounted augers and cranes, skid-steer loaders, utility trucks, pole trailers, and equipment trailers. All work will be confined to WAPA’s right-of-way (ROW). Existing access roads will be used and no road maintenance or new road construction will occur.
