The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is proposing to provide funding to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) to collect wave resource data using a buoy at a potential wave energy site off the coast of Kodiak, Alaska, for up to a two year period.
An experienced subcontractor has been selected for the proposed project. Proposed activities would include project management and data analysis for the subcontractor to develop a deployment and retrieval plan, and to obtain necessary permits and approvals for the deployment and recovery of the buoy.
