The existing L4 Pump House cooling water system will be upgraded to provide reliable service for the next fifteen or more years and to meet the requirements of the current New York State Department of Environmental Conservation State Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit (NY0005851) issued to the Knolls Laboratory to minimize adverse environmental impacts to the aquatic life in the river by 2020.
