The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy will be hosting a session entitled “Tribal Energy: Strategic Roadmap 2025” at the Reservation Economic Summit (RES) taking place in Tulsa, Oklahoma, July 11–14. In September 2015, DOE hosted the “National Tribal Energy Summit: A Path to Economic Sovereignty” in Washington, D.C., bringing together tribal leaders and representatives from federal agencies, state governments, private industry, utilities, and academia to exchange ideas and explore new and permanent solutions to energy challenges. Based on the Summit dialogues, DOE’s Office of Indian Energy developed a Strategic Roadmap for Indian energy development. This session will include a status report on the plan implementation and a panel discussion of the various types of infrastructure needed to advance energy development in Indian Country.

The session will be moderated by Office of Indian Energy Deputy Director David Conrad. Panelists will include Sarah Hill, Secretary of Natural Resources for the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma and Doug MacCourt, Senior Policy Advisor for the Office of Indian Energy.
