A free webinar called “Pitching Your Projects" will take place April 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mountain Time. This webinar is part of the 2017 Expanding Tribal Energy Development Through Partnerships webinar series sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs and the Western Area Power Administration.

To move an energy project forward, project leaders need to succinctly and convincingly convey the project idea to investors, such as private equity investors, a tribal council, or a tribal business board. In the investment world, this is known as a “pitch.” Regardless of the industry, the skill of pitching ideas is basically the same. In this webinar, attendees will receive tips on how to improve their pitch to increase its likelihood of securing support, buy-in, and investment. The webinar will include introductions from Randy Manion of the Western Area Power Administration and the DOE Office of Indian Energy's Lizana Pierce and Doug MacCourt, followed by a presentation from Scott Geary, Founder and Managing Partner of the business advisory firm Stone Angel Capital, LLC.

This webinar is designed to be a precursor to the 2017 National Tribal Energy Summit taking place May 1–3 in Washington, D.C., which will include a matchmaking session where attendees can pitch their projects to investors, lenders, and project developers.

The Summit will bring tribal leaders together with senior administration officials and federal agencies, state governments, private industry, utilities, and academia to exchange ideas and explore new and cost-effective solutions to our combined energy development and infrastructure challenges. With its focus on Tribal Energy Sovereignty and Strengthening Strategic Partnerships, the National Summit supports ongoing tribal efforts to enhance energy security, increase community resiliency, and cultivate a sustainable energy future.

There is no cost to attend the April 26 webinar, but advance registration is required. Register for the webinar.
