Petere Rodrick, Manager of the NNSA Livermore Field Office

Pete Rodrik serves as NNSA's Associate Administrator for Partnership and Acquisition Services.

Prior to that, he was Manager of the National Nuclear Security Administration’s Livermore Field Office (LFO).

Mr. Rodrik’s 30 years of experience includes business and contract management for large Federal installations with emphasis on nuclear operations, nuclear security, nuclear safety, environmental management, and sustainability of site facilities and infrastructure.

As LFO’s Manager, he led a Federal team of 85 employees in managing operating contracts with an annual budget of approximately $1.9 billion, a workforce of 6,300 people, and almost $10 billion in government-owned facilities and assets. He was responsible for the implementation of national security and nonproliferation missions by providing oversight of program management, nuclear operations, security, quality assurance, environment, safety and health, and the overall execution of key mission deliverables at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He is a member of the Senior Executive Service.

Before joining the Department of Energy (DOE), Mr. Rodrik held various nuclear engineering positions where he gained valuable commercial and defense related nuclear power experience. At the Nuclear Regulatory Commission he served as a Resident Inspector, where his primary duties included increasing the knowledge of conditions at plants, improving the agency's ability to independently verify the performance of plant personnel and equipment, and enhancing the agency's incident response capability. At the Department of Defense he served as a Chief Refueling Engineer with responsibilities for nuclear submarine refueling and reactor overhaul projects.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Rodrik served as the Senior Technical Safety Advisor at LFO with responsibilities for site nuclear facilities and operations, as well as broader Environmental Safety & Health programs. He also served as the DOE Acting Director for Price-Anderson Nuclear Safety Enforcement and DOE’s Site Resident at the Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site. During his tenure as an acting director, Mr. Rodrik represented the department as a Co-coordinator on the Interagency Nuclear Safety Review Panel for the NASA Mars Science Laboratory and Pluto New Horizons missions supporting White House approval of spacecraft launches containing DOE nuclear materials.

Mr. Rodrik holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Iowa and has completed post graduate studies in environmental management. He also completed the Leadership for a Democratic Society Program with the Federal Executive Institute.
