WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Department of Energy (DOE) today announced an $8 million funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for the research, development, and demonstration of cyber-physical platforms that will make electric power systems more resilient and secure.
Through sponsored university collaboration, this FOA seeks to improve the electricity sector's cybersecurity posture and ensure that resilient energy delivery systems are designed, installed, operated, and maintained to survive cyberattacks while sustaining critical functions. The research is primarily focused on developing scalable cyber-physical platforms, tools, and technologies that are flexible, self-healing, and autonomous. 

Participating energy industry partners will work with university-led teams to build cutting-edge tools and technologies guided by groundbreaking academic research. The initiative extends DOE’s voluntary public-private partnerships aimed at advancing the energy sector’s cybersecurity capabilities nationwide.
