Idaho National Laboratory’s (INL) mission is to ensure the nation’s energy security with safe, competitive, and sustainable energy systems and unique national and homeland security capabilities. To support these activities, INL operates numerous laboratories, reactors, test facilities, waste storage facilities, and support facilities. Of the 15 locally recognized units within the Department, Idaho locally negotiates with the International Federation of Professional and Technical Engineers (IFPTE), Local 94. IFPTE 94 represents professional and non-professional employees, including employees appointed under the cooperative education or student temporary employment programs with expectations of continued employment of more than 90 days, assigned to the DOE Idaho Operations Office, Idaho Falls, ID.
