DOE found that commercial refrigeration equipment basic model JURF-48 failed to comply with the energy conservation standards.

DOE ordered Turbo Air, Inc. to pay a $7,800 civil penalty after finding Turbo Air had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of noncompliant commercial refrigeration equipment basic model JURF-48.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Turbo Air.

On July 21, 2017, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Turbo Air finding that commercial refrigeration equipment basic model JURF-48 does not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE testing.  Turbo Air was required to notify each person (or company) to whom Turbo Air distributed the noncompliant products that the product does not meet Federal standards.  In addition, Turbo Air provided DOE documents and records showing the number of units Turbo Air distributed and to whom.
