DOE ordered Stajac Industries, Inc. to pay a $177,000 civil penalty after Stajac had manufactured and distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of noncompliant Excellence branded models DS-30 and DS-48 commercial ice cream freezers.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Stajac.

On August 4, 2017, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Stajac, finding that its commercial ice cream freezer models DS-30 and DS-48 (distributed under the Excellence brand) do not comply with applicable energy conservation standards based on Stajac's certification report and admission. Stajac provided DOE documents and records showing the number of units Stajac distributed.
