DOE ordered Quietside LLC to abide by the Compromise Agreement after finding that Quietside had distributed in commerce in the U.S. multiple units of split-system central air conditioning heat pump basic model consisting of the outdoor model branded and sold as Quietside LLC model QSHC-092 and the indoor model branded and sold as Quietside LLC model QSHE-092.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Quietside.

On October 3, 2016, DOE issued a Notice of Noncompliance Determination to Quietside finding that split-system central air conditioning heat pump basic model consisting of the outdoor model branded and sold as Quietside LLC model QSHC-092 and the indoor model branded and sold as Quietside LLC model QSHE-092.does not comport with applicable energy conservation standards based on DOE testing.  Quietside was required to notify each person (or company) to whom Quietside distributed the noncompliant products that the product does not meet Federal standards.  In addition, Quietside provided DOE documents and records showing the number of units Quietside distributed and to whom.
