DOE ordered Interlink Products International, Inc. to pay a $8,000 civil penalty after finding Interlink had failed to certify that certain models of showerheads comply with the applicable energy conservation standards.  The Order adopted a Compromise Agreement, which reflected settlement terms between DOE and Interlink.

DOE alleged in a June 21, 2016 Notice of Proposed Civil Penalty that Interlink failed to certify certain models of showerheads as compliant with the applicable energy conservation standards.  DOE regulations require a manufacturer (which includes importers) to submit reports certifying that each basic model of its products have been tested and meet the applicable standards.  This civil penalty notice advises the company of the potential penalties and DOE's administrative process, including the company's right to a hearing.
