Joe served as Deputy General Counsel for Litigation, Regulation, and Enforcement at the US Department of Energy. He previously served as a litigation attorney with Stein Mitchell Beato & Missner, and before that with Kirkland & Ellis LLP.  During that time, he advised on a wide array of  litigation matters, ranging from management of complex litigation to crisis management and class action settlements. Prior to that, Joe served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 1000 company and, before that, as senior counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary and as attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, in both the Office of Legislative Affairs and the Civil Rights Division. 

Joe is a graduate of Duquesne University and Case Western Reserve School of Law, and also has a master's degree from George Mason University.
