The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is hosting a workshop in Pittsburgh, PA, on December 8th, from 12:30 – 5:30 PM to learn about community priorities and concerns around carbon management projects, including how communities would like to be involved in their development. This workshop is one of several workshops that DOE is hosting in areas where carbon management projects may be sited.

The event will be interactive, including discussions with local speakers, researchers, federal agencies, and community-based organizations, in addition to facilitated discussions for participants to share their concerns or questions.

  • Below is a general overview of the session topics:
  • Session 1 – What kind of carbon projects, and why?
  • Session 2 – Would these projects fit here in Pittsburgh?
  • Session 3 – What can be done to mitigate project impacts?
  • Session 4 – Open plan session – Q-and-A exhibits

To ensure the workshop group is small enough to foster meaningful discussion among participants, registration will close after 40 registrants. If you are interested in registering, please email FECMCommunications@hq.doe.gov.
