As 2022 comes to a close it is a good time to reflect on Energy Saver accomplishments over the past year.

2022 had several proud achievements for Energy Saver. Most notable was the development of the new Energy Efficient House Tour.  This online interactive tool is designed to help consumers focus on energy saving tips for specific areas of a typical home.

Equally important, the first two editions of Spark Squad, the new Energy Saver for Kids comic book series were published in 2022.  These editions followed the Spark Squad members as they discovered and learned about marine energy and hydropower.

In addition, 2022 saw new Energy Saver fact sheets and resource pages covering a variety of topics from the recently passed Inflation Reduction Act to fuel economy to appliance choices. The popular Energy Saver Guide was also updated with the latest facts and figures for 2022.

There are many exciting ideas in store for Energy Saver in 2023.  Not only are new comic book editions planned for the Spark Squad members, a new suite of energy-saving DIY fact sheets and resource pages are in the works, as are some expanded versions of the Energy Efficient House Tour. The Energy Saver blogs and Facebook posts will also begin to feature monthly themes to highlight consumer needs such as clean energy affordability and reliability.

On behalf of everyone at the U.S. Department of Energy, Energy Saver wishes you a Happy and Prosperous New Year.  We look forward to sharing more energy-saving conservation tips and tools for consumers in the year to come.
