DOE Awards Small Business Contract for Support to the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant

Cincinnati - The Department of Energy (DOE) today awarded a task order to Southwestern Public Service Company, of Amarillo, TX to supply on a daily basis the required quantity of electric energy required for the customer’s operation at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) facilities pursuant to the terms of the areawide contract. This is a ten-year, Firm Fixed Unit Rate type task order with a Not-To-Exceed amount of $10,000,000.

Southwestern Public Service Company is a small business.

The mission of the Office of Environmental Management is to complete the safe cleanup of the environmental legacy brought about from five decades of nuclear weapons development and government-sponsored nuclear energy research.
