Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette signed March 19, 2019 Departmental Memorandum

Deputy Secretary Dan Brouillette announced in a March 19, 2019 Departmental Memorandum he signed DOE Order 442.1B, DOE Employee Concerns Program (ECP) on January 31, 2019. Important improvements are described in the updated ECP Order which cancels the previous June 2001 version. The Deputy Secretary explains the DOE ECP Order establishes the criteria and processes across the complex to encourage expression of employees concerns through an independent avenue and supports a safety culture where concerns can be identified and resolved without fear of retaliation.  He identifies federal and contractor employees as an important source for discovery and reporting of conditions that could affect the quality or safety of operations. DOE ECP contacts and information can be found on the DOE ECP website:  https://www.energy.gov/ehss/services/doe-employee-concerns-program.
