All programs within the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) are required to undertake rigorous, objective peer reviews covering their key projects, as well as 85–90% of their funded active project portfolio every two years. This ensures and enhances the management, relevance, effectiveness, and productivity of those projects.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. If you received an invitation, your project has been selected to be reviewed as part of the 2024 WETO Peer Review and you are required to participate. Each project or award is required to have one project team member attend. During the Peer Review, reviewers evaluate WETO’s overall portfolio of projects to see how funded work aligns with WETO’s stated goals. Including projects that are near completion is important because it allows reviewers to see the diversity of WETO’s portfolio and provide valuable program-level feedback. If you have questions about your project's involvement or concerns about funding for travel to the event, please reach out to your assigned project technology manager.

Only one presenter is required to attend per project. Due to capacity limits, additional team members will be invited as capacity comes available.

Please reach out to the technology manager and technical project officer assigned to your project. They can help with any budget modifications to ensure you can attend and that allowable costs can be billed to the award.
