Oak Ridge National Laboratory will host a webinar about standard modular hydropower (SMH) resources. The research team will provide an overview and demonstration of two guidelines and tools that are publicly available: the Exemplary Design Envelope Specification--a framework for technology-neutral conceptual design of modular hydropower technology--and SMH Explorer--a geo-visual analytics platform that empowers user-guided, energy-water-environment-module data analysis and inquiries. WPTO’s recently announced funding opportunity seeks to stimulate innovative design concepts for small, low-head hydropower plants capable of lowering the capital costs and reducing the environmental impacts of development at new stream-reach (i.e., greenfield) sites.
