The nation is on the cusp of a dramatic movement to DOE Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH). This includes doubling of certified homes for three straight years, integration of ZERH in statewide codes, 100% commitments with large developments and builders, and over 800 partners working with DOE; including builders, raters, and high-performance product companies and associations. Much of this progress can be attributed to a small contingent of our nation's leading builders who are demonstrating the technical, economic, and design feasibility for the federal government's most rigorous specifications for home performance. They also happen to be our ZERH Housing Innovation Award winners.
Once a year, the ZERH team gathers this group for a roundtable meeting ahead of the Housing Innovation Awards event held at the Energy and Environmental Building Alliance High-Performance Homes Summit. The outcome of this meeting is summarized here.
