The 2023 Building Technologies Office (BTO) Peer Review was held on April 24-28, 2023, at the Crystal City Double Tree Hotel (300 Army Navy Drive) in Arlington, Virginia. The four-day Peer Review – BTO’s 10th annual review – showcased key BTO efforts throughout the week in plenary sessions on April 24 and 25, a poster session on April 24, and other special sessions on Advanced Building Construction; Building America; Healthy Buildings; Technology-to-Market; Environmental Justice and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; and the launch of BTO’s new National Emerging Technologies Collaborative.
The Peer Review is BTO’s tool to generate robust and documented feedback from independent experts on the effectiveness and impact of its programs. This year’s Peer Review gathered over 500 stakeholders in BTO’s mission from the federal government, national labs, industry, academia, and nongovernmental organizations. By hosting an in-person event, BTO aimed to facilitate networking opportunities and future collaborations in research, demonstration, and deployment initiatives.
