As part of the U.S. Department of Energy Advanced Manufacturing Office's Lab Embedded Entrepreneurship Program, CRI embeds innovators into the lab for two years to develop and de-risk their hard-tech energy and science technologies. CRI provides participants the financial and technical support they need to evolve early-stage R&D innovation into a viable energy or manufacturing business.

Pre-Apply to join Cohort 5, learn more at the informational webinars, and share this invitation with any colleagues who may be interested.

CRI supports teams of innovators with:

  • Up to $1 million in resources including stipend and benefits for two years
  • Up to $220,000 to support technical work at Argonne
  • Networking opportunities with the Midwest and national energy ecosystem
  • Mentorship and support from the CRI team

In addition, through partnership agreements with mentor organizations such as the University of Chicago's Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship and mHUB, Chicago's first innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing, CRI participants will get assistance developing business strategies, conducting market research, and finding long-term financing and potential commercial partners.

Working with the best and brightest from across the nation, the program teaches the entrepreneurship skills needed to develop transformative cleantech innovations in advanced manufacturing.

The application period for CRI's Cohort 5 is September 15 until October 31, 2020.
