Director, Office of Safeguards Assessments
Tammy Perry is the Director of the Office of Safeguards Assessments within the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Enterprise Assessments. Ms. Perry leads and provides direction to analysts who conduct independent evaluations of the effectiveness of safeguards policies and programs throughout the Department in preventing the loss of special nuclear material, and classified and sensitive information.
Ms. Perry has over 30 years of experience and, before becoming director, led numerous teams of DOE and contract technical experts in conducting appraisals, reviews, and special studies of safeguards programs (e.g., Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAP)) at DOE and National Nuclear Security Administration facilities and laboratories. She has more than a decade of experience in security management as a Department of Defense (DoD) civilian, where she served in leadership positions in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, the Office of Special Technology in the Intelligence Systems Support Office, and the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. She has a record of providing specialized and innovative approaches for addressing Collateral, SCI and SAP mission objectives for DoD and the National Intelligence Enterprise.
Ms. Perry has completed numerous college and professional training courses throughout her career, and an accelerated-designed Office of Personnel Management Leadership Development Program at the U.S. Air Force Academy.
