Andrea Korney has demonstrated her passion for inclusive stakeholder relations in the mining and energy sectors. Andrea’s focus is to reduce barriers and create opportunities for diverse employees, businesses owners and industry partners through policy and regulation influence, workforce development and sustainability outreach.

Ms. Korney’s 25+ years of experience in the energy and metals extraction, includes longstanding roles in oil and gas, power generation and mining across North America and Russia. Her focus in these roles has included HR, corporate services, global supply chain and logistics, stakeholder relations, Native American relations and government affairs. 

Providing leadership, strategic planning and business development support to corporations, she has developed strong alliances with trade associations, diversity organizations, tribes and unions. Her contributions to supplier diversity and Native American engagement in energy led to a recognition by Bloomberg’s Sustainability Index in 2017. Her expertise in areas of supplier management, supplier development, diversity and inclusion contribute value for small, diverse businesses and energy corporations creating capacity and contracting opportunities in traditionally underserved communities.

Ms. Korney is an active panelist and diversity advocate contributing to many articles and authoring sustainability whitepapers. Her commitment to North American equitable economic development is evidenced by her participation on the advisory committee for the Supplier Diversity Advisory Council, energy advisory to the Latino Coalition and Canadian, Aboriginal, Minority Supplier Council (CAMSC) board membership.

Recently Andrea has been focused on the positive impact to stakeholder value and financial performance through strong sustainability practices and ESG commitment. She heads the sustainability practice for Frostbyte, enhancing their EHSQ software platform. She also heads a global supply chain division for Kinross Gold Corporation.

Ms. Korney holds an MBA from Ivey Business School (Canada).
