The Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (ODEIA)'s mission is to execute and provide leadership on the Department of Energy (DOE)’s DEIA strategic plan and Department-wide DEIA goals and initiatives for the Federal workforce. ODEA helps improve DOE’s efforts to increase diverse representation, sustain a culture and environment of inclusion and belonging, and identify and address inequitable barriers to ensuring fair access and opportunities. Located in DOE’s Office of Energy Justice and Equity (EJE), ODEIA partners to promote and integrate DEIA within talent, business, and program processes, policies, and practices. ODEIA ensures DOE alignment with Executive Order 14035 and DEIA-related Presidential directives.

The DEIA Strategy team, coordinates and ensures the DOE’s DEIA strategic plan implementation, and provides DEIA subject matter expertise and technical assistance to DOE program offices.

The DEIA Learning and Organizational Development team develops, facilitates, and deploys programs and trainings to advance DEIA knowledge, accountability, and culture change across the DOE.

The DEIA Engagement team deepens workforce engagement through Employee Resource Groups, DEIA initiatives, and strategic communications, as well as strengthening external partnerships and targeted outreach opportunities with diverse organizations.
