Between January 2011 and October 2013, April supported the Digital Communications team in the Office of Public Affairs in a variety of roles, most recently as the Department's first specialist in online outreach. Prior to joining the Energy Department, she spent a year working with the political team at an environmental nonprofit in Washington, D.C. A graduate of American University and Iowa native, in her free time April can usually be found traveling, catching up on the latest social media trends, or desperately trying to keep her tomato plants alive. (UPDATE 11/2012: The tomatoes didn't make it.)
