Executive Order 13870 (EO 13870), America’s Cybersecurity Workforce (May 2019), presents the Federal Government with responsibility for cultivating a strong and diverse cyber workforce.  EO 13870 also establishes a cybersecurity rotational assignment program that will facilitate knowledge sharing among the Federal workforce.  DOE and CESER are tasked with working with the national laboratories to provide expert technical advice for an annual cybersecurity competition—the President’s Cup Cybersecurity Competition. This competition is designed to identify the best cybersecurity practitioners. CESER also will work with DOE to identify skill gaps in energy sector security so that these gaps can be rectified.
