WEDNESDAY: Deputy Secretary Poneman to Speak at Nissan Advanced Battery Manufacturing Facility Groundbreaking in Smyrna, TN
Smyrna, TN - On Wednesday, May 26, 2010, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Energy Daniel Poneman will speak at the groundbreaking ceremony for Nissan North America's advanced battery manufacturing facility in Smyrna, Tennessee.
In January, the Department of Energy closed its $1.4 billion loan agreement with Nissan North America, Inc. to retool their Smyrna, Tennessee factory to build advanced electric automobiles and an advanced battery manufacturing facility. The two projects are expected to create up to 1,300 American jobs. The details of the event are:
