Washington, DC - Beginning Wednesday, May 25 U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu will welcome nearly 1,000 of America's top energy researchers to Washington, D.C. for the inaugural Science for the Nation's Energy Future: The Energy Frontier Research Centers Summit and Forum. The three-day event will bring together scientists and energy policy leaders to explore the challenges and opportunities in applying America's extraordinary scientific and technical resources to helping shape our clean energy future. Secretary Chu will give the opening keynote address on Wednesday, May 25 and discuss how technology and innovation can help solve the nation's energy needs.

Over the course of the event participants will also hear from:

  • Steve Koonin, DOE Under Secretary for Science
  • Senator Jeff Bingaman (D-NM)
  • Congressman Daniel Lipinski (D-IL)
  • Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren (D-CA)
  • John Hennessy, President of Stanford University
