About the Advisory Board
The Board will provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary of Energy on the Department's basic and applied research and development activities, economic and national security policy, educational issues, operational issues and any other activities and operations of the Department of Energy as the Secretary may direct. SEAB will have four standing sub-committees that provide advice and recommendations to the Secretary on the Department's four major mission areas: science; energy; nuclear security; and environmental stewardship. Ad-hoc task forces, comprised of SEAB members and outside experts, will be formed to advise in specific areas directed by the Secretary. The duties of the Board are solely advisory.
