| Senior Department of Energy Official to Address Energy Facility Contractors | |||||||||
| WASHINGTON, DC – On Wednesday, March 19, 2008, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Environmental Management Jim Rispoli will deliver remarks at the Energy Facility Contractors Group’s 2008 Annual Executive Council Meeting in Washington, DC. Assistant Secretary Rispoli is expected to discuss the Department’s goals for safely and responsibly cleaning up the Nation’s Cold War era nuclear waste, contracting activity at DOE sites across the country, and project management improvements.
The Energy Facility Contractors Group’s 2008 Annual Executive Council (EFCOG) Meeting provides an annual forum where DOE headquarters and field personnel, members of Congress, the Defense Nuclear Facilities Safety Board, and others can update EFCOG members on the challenges facing the Department and discuss evolving policies. The Office of Environmental Management has more information on DOE’s efforts to reduce risk and cleanup the environmental legacy of the Nation’s nuclear weapons program. |
