The coal mining industry in Pennsylvania is one of the largest in the Nation.With the help of grants from the Department of Energy, the state has joined a regional partnership currently researching carbon sequestration technology.Pennsylvania’s other major source of power is its nuclear industry, which ranks second in the Nation and provides 36% of the state’s electricity.
