Solar Decathlon Homes Open for Media Tour
Washington, DC – The Department of Energy will welcome members of the media to the National Mall on Wednesday, October 7 for a sneak peek at the 2009 U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon. Before the houses open to the public, members of the media are invited to meet the teams and tour the twenty solar-powered homes built by university-led teams from around the world. The Solar Decathlon challenges teams to build high-efficiency, solar-powered homes. Over the next ten days, teams will compete in ten contests, testing the design, efficiency, and performance of the homes they have built.
