Secretary Chu to Address Edison Electric Institute Annual Conference and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory

Washington, DC – Tomorrow, US Energy Secretary Steven Chu will travel to California where he will address the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Annual Conference on Thursday and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory on Friday. 

This year’s EEI conference will explore key elements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and learn about the latest proposals to advance the nation’s energy and climate objectives. Secretary Chu will speak to EEI about the importance of energy efficiency and upgrading the nation’s power grid. 

The following day, Friday, June 26, Secretary Chu will speak to SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory scientists and staffers about his vision and direction for our energy future.  SLAC is a multipurpose laboratory for astrophysics, photon science, accelerator and particle physics research. SLAC is home to a two-mile linear accelerator—the longest in the world.
