DOE Under Secretary to Participate in Coast-to-Coast Hydrogen Tour

WASHINGTON – On Thursday, August 14, 2008, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Under Secretary Clarence H. “Bud” Albright, Jr. will welcome the Hydrogen Tour to Washington D.C., with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Deputy Secretary Vice Admiral Thomas J. Barrett, the National Hydrogen Association (NHA), and the California Fuel Cell Partnership.  Under Secretary Albright is expected to highlight DOE’s hydrogen research efforts, which contribute to the development of advanced clean vehicle technologies and fuels to help overcome energy challenges and ensure long-term energy security.  He will tour hydrogen cars from nine different manufacturers, deliver remarks, and take questions from the media.

The Hydrogen Road Tour is a two-week trip across the U.S. with 31 planned stops to showcase clean hydrogen-powered cars. Organized by DOT, DOE, NHA, and the California Fuel Cell Partnership, the tour seeks to highlight progress made in the development of hydrogen vehicles and fueling technologies.
