Department of Energy Official to Participate in Panel Discussion at Plug-In Electric Vehicles 2008: What Role for Washington?

WASHINGTON, DC - On Thursday, June 12, 2008, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Alexander (Andy) Karsner will participate in a panel discussion at Plug-In Electric Vehicles 2008: What Role for Washington? sponsored by the Brookings Institution and Google.org. Assistant Secretary Karsner is expected to highlight new initiatives in the Administration’s long-term strategy to increase our nation’s energy supply and economic security by researching, developing and deploying clean, cutting-edge vehicle technologies that will help diversify our nation’s energy sources and fundamentally change the way we power our vehicles.
