Senior Energy Official in Hawaii to Highlight Energy Efficiency Cooperation

WASHINGTON, DC –On Tuesday, January 29, 2008, Alexander Karsner, U.S. Department of Energy Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy and Daniel J. Basta, Director, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) National Marine Sanctuary Program will make an announcement regarding DOE and NOAA’s efforts to strengthen and promote energy efficiency at the country's marine sanctuaries.  Taking action to protect and efficiently manage our national treasures contributes to President Bush’s Advanced Energy Initiative which seeks to improve energy efficiency and to make our energy infrastructure more secure and reliable.
